“There is obviously only one alternative, namely the unification of minds or consciousnesses. Their multiplicity is only apparent, in truth there is only one mind”. Erwin Schrödinger in Mind and Matter (1958).
Ocells al Cap have been investigating forms of group communication, intra-connection, telepathy and synchronicity since 2014. A core group of artists meet regularly to develop methodologies and exercises in order to observe and to test their capacities for experiencing such connections. Over the years they have established a series of exercises and techniques that draw on transformative body-mind-spirit practices such as Tai Chi and meditation.
An important aim of Ocells al Cap, is a common desire to go beyond the sense of self and single-minded goals. To create a space where self-mastery is replaced by not-knowing, and where a ‘master’ who teaches a group of ‘students’ who learn, is replaced by the intersubjective discoveries of a self-adjusting matrixial group. Drawing on Bracha Ettttinger’s psychoanalytical concept of the matrixial, in which woman is designated not as the Other but as co-emerging self with m/Other, we, as an all-woman group, weave our multiplicity in psychic strings, awake to the transformative potentialities of our work.
